Seismic Retrofit

SEISMIC RETROFIT is a term loosely employed to describe work done to an existing building to make it safer in an earthquake. Specifically in live/work in Oakland, any building where units qualify as JW/LQ need only be brought up to 75% of today's earthquake code strength. If the live/work project meets the requirements of the "10% rule", no seismic retrofit is required
