Conduit

CONDUIT is a form of metal or plastic raceway (tubing) in which electrical cable is run. There are various types suited to particular uses, including Rigid Conduit, EMT, and PVC conduit. The uses of all are governed by electrical and fire codes. "Romex" is not conduit and is sometimes permitted where conduit is not required, such as inside of walls on buildings under three stories.
